Oak has created rich forests and has long been widely used as furniture and building materials in European and American countries, as well as barrels for ships and wine. It is also used as a royal emblem in the UK, known as the King of the Forest, and is a symbol of strength and longevity. The main characteristic of oak is its warmth. Flat sawn oak exhibits strong textures, while quarter sawn oak presents a delicate and soft surface. In addition, quarter sawn oak has a unique medullary ray pattern, known as "tiger spots".
