Japanese Beech | An Understanding of Light Leaf Beech and Beech

Light leaved beech, a precious tree representing Japan, is one of the most famous trees in Japan.
In Japan, the "light leaved beech" exists like a god, and its status is similar to that of Hainan Huanghua pear in China.
In the family of beech trees, Japanese light leaved beech differs from other regions in that it is the only unique tree species that grows in warm and cold island climates, combining the robustness of tropical rainforest broad-leaved trees with the solidity of North American hardwood.
The growth of light leaved beech is slow, and it takes only one inch of small green buds to grow from the soil, which takes one year. It takes at least 80 years to see the flowering and fruiting of beech, and it often takes hundreds of years to mature.
After World War II, Japan's natural beech forests were almost completely cut down. The century old giant beech that has emerged today, as well as the compliant Japanese century old beech wood, will be auctioned off uniformly, and the one with the higher price will receive it.
The market circulation is extremely scarce, and large-sized century old beech wood is even more precious. It is difficult to find a single wood, and its collection value is very high.
After hundreds of years of consumption, natural beech forests in East Asia have become very scarce, and redwood resources such as yellow pear and rosewood have gradually dried up. Currently, most of the so-called "beech wood" sold on the market is actually European beech, belonging to the order Fagaceae, beech family, and beech genus. It is a relatively advanced wood decorative material, but its value is far less than that of beech wood in the elm family.
In 1999, beech was listed as a second level protected wild plant in China and logging was prohibited.
As of now, the collection of Japanese light leaved beech trees by Da Jiao Mu Chuang is 8057.
Beech wood can be classified as "white beech", "yellow beech", "red beech", or "blood beech". Among them, the elderly and reddish ones are called "blood beech" and are most cherished by people.
In addition, Da Jiao Mu Chuang currently has a collection of over 40 rare wood species, including Japanese cypress, Japanese beam, ginkgo, willow, Liao cypress, fragrant cedar, Ba Hua, etc., totaling more than 10000 logs and more than 10000 rough boards, with diameters ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
